All-Church Retreat
April 21 – 23, 2017

Join your friends of all ages for a time of relaxation and fellowship in Montreat, a small town nestled in North Carolina’s mountains! We’ll have plenty of time for exploring, playing games, singing, hiking, and rock-hopping.  In addition, we’ll have an optional mission experience at Camp Grier, an outdoor ministry of the Presbyterian Church, on Saturday morning.

Lodging & Cost

  • Georgia Lodge - a large, relaxed, and friendly home in the heart of Montreat in which the entire group can gather. Sleeps 28. Families will share a bedroom.
  • Breathless View Cottage – a lovely home belonging to the family of Emily Sprague, within walking distance of Georgia Lodge. Sleeps 9. Adults and couples without children will stay here unless they prefer to stay at Georgia Lodge or we run out space.

The Food: We keep things simple! Friday dinner is on your own. We offer fixings for breakfasts and lunches. For Saturday’s dinner, we pick up pizza, toss a big salad, and enjoy this meal together. Participants are invited to bring a snack to share.

The Cost (includes lodging, most meals, and our service project): $75/person or $225/family

I heart Montreat SquareWhat Will We Do in Montreat?

Well, this is Montreat! So first and foremost, we’ll relax and enjoy getting to know one another! Here is a general picture of the weekend:

Your goal is to just get here whenever you can get. Enjoy dinner along the way, or meet some friends in Black Mountain, the neighboring town. The gate doesn’t close and we’ll wait up for you at “the big house”, Georgia Lodge!

The central activity for the day is to travel down to Camp Grier, a Presbyterian camp, for a special service project and tour (10 AM – 1 PM). This mission activity is optional, but we hope you’ll come! After that, there’s plenty of time for rock-hopping, hiking up Lookout Mountain, crafting, napping, or enjoying a board game. We’ll pick up pizza for dinner and then enjoy some more socializing before a late evening devotions.

After breakfast, we’ll head over to worship at Montreat Presbyterian Church. Then we’ll eat up all the leftovers, pack up, and head out!  Try to keep the Spirit of peace and joy that you gained while being at Montreat with you for as long as you can.
